My First Time

As a wedding videographer, every wedding is special, but there are some that are truly unforgettable. For me, that wedding was the first solo wedding that I agreed to film, which happened to be scheduled just one week after my first-born son, Jude, was born. Not the brightest idea by me.

The couple, who I’d worked for before filming their business, were unsure about having a videographer, but nevertheless, took a chance on me. Their wedding was held at their own track livery yard, a stunning setting with a state-of-the-art track system that encourages barefoot rehabilitation for horses. They worked incredibly hard for this venue, and it showed.

The ceremony was held on the fields under the shade of some woodland, and the reception took place in the beautiful barn. The whole day was magical, and I felt very lucky to be a part of it. As the evening guests and more babies arrived, I quickly realised that I hadn’t quite left the ‘baby bubble’ and that I couldn't be away from home any longer.  Being a mother herself, Bethan, the bride, understood completely. I wanted to stay all night, but I did stay for the cake cutting and first dance.

Bethan and her husband Dan, had previously hired me to create videos for their business, so it was a joy to be able to capture their special day as well.

This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart. It was an early highlight of my career, and I will forever be grateful to Bethan and Dan for trusting me with their precious memories.
